HAI SCHOOL MUSICAL !

So very recently, I was given the grand role of being the designer-in-chief or simply, the Design I/C of my committee's latest project.

I was supposed to be on medical leave, but I guess I'm a workaholic. Managed to get whatev's below done within 5 hours, from 9pm till 2am. I really do work best at night. Experiments after experiments, I came up with the following.

Fortunately, the bigger bosses up there liked my designs and were gushing about it (according to my colleague) but they thought the space between the girl's ponytail and her head looked like a telephone (for some reason, that lady gaga's song rang inside my head. no puns intended). I just needed to change that and the colours of the tickets. Black and white were too basic (and easily forge-able). So I got my machines working again.

BOOM! 24 BRAND NEW COLOUR CHOICES! 12 SETS! It's like throwing my committee members and I/C into a candy store to pick out something they fancied. Eventually, they chose one of my faves.

I also did a version with the cast. Highly requested and my student wasn't skilled enough to do it, so I managed to photoshop both heads into the template on illustrator. 

This below, is a door gift for the VIP. Some of them didn't really want theirs so I get to keep one! 

 

The bottom one was the A0 poster that greeted the guests at the entrance. I kinda like it, heh.

so recently, i just helped a friend with some name card designs. this was the final one I chose out of all the possibilities. something simple and girly, as per request. you like? :p

some time ago (last year), I helped a friend with her "dog school" branding. this apparently came to a hiatus when all of us were busy with school and commitments.

four maxi dresses • the cafe continued

Decided to redo the identity of FMD. Couldn't do much with the coffee stain thingy. So I decided to be bold and went ahead with a brand nu idea!

The envelope and letter head front are pretty much the same, minus the coffee mug stain.

Heh heh! This is where the change comes in! Added this new visual language into the entire branding process. Love it. Well, just in case you can't find the link between the big female head and the logo, think harder!

The female head is a zoom in of the lady smoke in the logo! See the link now? ;D


Decided that consumers of the coffee place will not be so interested in contacting the people behind the coffee place. So I went ahead to do 2 name cards. One for official purposes, and one that's designed specially for the consumers, has a discount function, too! This kinda prevents the consumers from throwing the card away, I guess? Haha.

Uniform is pretty straightforward. Don't want any fancyschmancies going on.

Hmmm, thought we might come up with some coffee powders of our own. How d'ya like those flavours?


Well, cups wise...nothing too elaborate. Incorporated the head just for the sake of the consistency in visual language.


AHA! THE MENU! My favourite! Was drooling while writing out those yummy flavoured coffees and treats! Can't wait to get started on experimenting with my girls! Just to name a few on the list (since they are all small and stuff in the picture), we have banana choco, toffee apple, popcorn, lollipop burst flavoured coffees and caramelised tea selections! Also, also! We have the good ol' munchies like apple cinnamon pretzels, tiramisu, etc! Mmmmmm.....

Not forgetting a system to thank loyal customers, came up with the loyalty card system! Each purchase of our coffee of the day or any signature brews earns one stamp! Collect 8 and redeem a free cup of coffee and tiramisu cake!

Geez, am getting really excited here. HAHAHA. This dream seems so far away and surreal! Hopefully we'll be able to raise that much money in time to come. ;D

I think I might just design more items for the shop after my final year project is done in May 2011! Can't wait. This is just super exciting! Maybe I might show u sketches I did before I derive at the current visual language. Heehee. (:

The logo is finally done. After weeks of explorations and drawings. I was kinda enjoying the process of finding the right graphics and fonts for the logo as, after all, this cafe is my baby as well. I hope the rest of the other girls from four maxi dresses will love what I came up with.

four maxi dresses is a cafe specialising in coffee with a hint of saltiness. It's the new spot for relaxing and chilling out with pals after a long day of work. It's the brainchild of four travel buddies turned friends with a passion for maxi dresses and coffees.

four maxi dresses aims to open it's first store front in 2012. Meanwhile, we're still in the process of churning out the best salty coffees for everyone. (:
